Happy Birthday eCourier: Have an Award!
eCourier.co.uk, the world's first online courier company, is celebrating its two year anniversary with its 13th award. The 'Mobile Product or Initiative of the Year' sponsored by Intel, at the recent CNET UK Technology Awards in London.
This award recognises the success of eCourier's AIBA (Advanced Information Based Allocation) system. "AIBA sits at the heart of what separates eCourier from conventional courier companies" explains eCourier co-founder and Chief Technical Officer Jay Bregman. "AIBA intelligently allocates each delivery, taking over the work which traditionally requires banks of human controllers, setting the groundwork for an industry first: a same day courier company of limitless scale."
Over the summer, eCourier scooped three categories at the Effective IT Awards, including Most Innovative Use of IT, Most Effective Use of Communications Technologies and Most Effective Use of IT in Manufacturing and Logistics.
After 18 months of Research & Development, eCourier began trading in September 2004, completing 25 consignments and billing less than £1,000 in with just 4 couriers. Two years on and eCourier is Europe's fastest growing delivery business with over 100 eCouriers in London, completing in excess of 20,000 deliveries per month.
