eCourier (UK) Limited announces today that Logispring, a transatlantic investor focused on building businesses for global supply networks, has acquired a minority equity stake in eCourier for £2 million.

As eCourier's first institutional investor, and sole investor in this round of financing, Logispring is in good company, joining several well known private investors including Esther Dyson (CNET Networks), Stuart Wheeler (IG Index) and Harry Cragoe (PJ Smoothies). The investment will be used to accelerate eCourier's already phenomenal growth further, in the London market and beyond. Investment bank Spayne Lindsay & Co. advised eCourier on the transaction.

eCourier's Chief Executive Officer Tom Allason said: "Logispring demonstrated a unique understanding of our business, its potential as well as the opportunities and challenges we will be facing in the coming years. After 18 months of Research & Development, eCourier began trading in September 2004, completing 25 consignments and billing less than £1,000 with just 4 couriers. Two years on and eCourier is Europe's fastest growing delivery business with over 100 eCouriers in London, completing in excess of 20,000 deliveries per month.
