World Environment Day 2026: eCourier Surpasses 10,000 Zero-Emission Deliveries Across Central London
As businesses across the UK mark World Environment Day 2026, eCourier is proud to celebrate a significant sustainability milestone: more than 10,000 zero-emission deliveries completed across Central London so far this year.
Between 1 January and 2 June 2026, our fleet completed 10,117 deliveries with zero direct emissions, helping businesses move goods across the capital while reducing congestion and improving air quality in one of Europe’s busiest urban environments.
Every one of these deliveries took place within London’s ULEZ and Congestion Charge zones, replacing journeys that would otherwise have been completed by petrol or diesel vehicles.
Growth in Sustainable Deliveries
Demand for low-emission delivery solutions continues to grow, with strong year-on-year increases across both our cargo bike and electric van services.
So far in 2026, our Central London fleet has recorded:
- 5,366 cargo bike bookings, up 21% compared with the same period in 2025
- 1,286 electric van jobs, up 19% year-on-year
- 2,680 cargo bike deliveries completed in place of small van journeys
- 785 van jobs covered by electric vehicles, replacing diesel-powered alternatives
These figures highlight the growing role that sustainable transport solutions are playing in helping London businesses reduce their environmental impact without compromising on speed or reliability.
Reducing Emissions Across the Capital
The impact of these deliveries extends beyond individual journeys.
To date, eCourier’s sustainable fleet has completed 3,465 deliveries without a ULEZ-liable vehicle, helping customers avoid higher-emission transport options while supporting cleaner air across Central London.
Based on average Central London delivery routes, we estimate that our zero-emission operations have helped avoid approximately 62 tonnes of CO₂ emissions so far in 2026.

Investing in a Greener Future
Cargo bikes and electric vehicles continue to form an increasingly important part of eCourier’s fleet strategy. Their ability to navigate London’s busy streets efficiently while producing zero tailpipe emissions makes them an effective solution for urban logistics.
As demand for sustainable same day delivery continues to rise, eCourier remains committed to expanding greener delivery options and helping customers achieve their own environmental goals.
Looking Ahead
World Environment Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress already made, but it also highlights the work still to be done.
With more than 10,000 zero-emission deliveries completed before the halfway point of the year, eCourier is continuing to invest in sustainable transport solutions that support cleaner, more efficient deliveries across London.
We would like to thank our customers, couriers and operational teams whose support and dedication have helped make this milestone possible.
Together, we’re delivering greener journeys across London.
